What is Wegovy used for?
Wegovy (semaglutide) is commonly used for weight loss in people who are obese or who are overweight and have other health conditions, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol.
Wegovy is used to lower the risk of cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke, or death) in people who have heart disease and are either overweight or obese.
Wegovy may also be used for other conditions determined by your healthcare provider.

- Nausea/vomiting
- Diarrhea/constipation
- Stomach pain, upset stomach or indigestion, acid reflux
- Headache
- Tiredness
- Dizziness
- Swelling of your stomach area
- Low blood sugar (in people with diabetes)
- Gas or burping
- Stomach flu
- Infection in the nose or throat, sore throat, or common cold symptoms

Who should not use Wegovy?

Interactions
Does Wegovy interact with foods or drinks?
There are no known interactions between Wegovy and foods or drinks.
It is unknown if drinking alcohol will affect Wegovy. The risk of dizziness may be increased if you drink alcohol while using Wegovy.
Does Wegovy interact with other medicines (drug interactions)?
Always tell your healthcare provider about any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using.
Overdose/Missed Dose
What should I do if I accidentally use too much Wegovy?
If you or someone else has used too much Wegovy, get medical help immediately, call 911, or contact a Poison Control centre at 800-222-1222.
What should I do if I miss a dose of Wegovy?
If you miss one dose of Wegovy and your next dose is not due for at least 2 days (48 hours), use Wegovy as soon as possible.
If you miss one dose of Wegovy and your next dose is less than 2 days away (less than 48 hours), skip the missed dose. Then use Wegovy at the next scheduled weekly dose.
